Great Southern Bank

 

Great Southern Bank is Australia’s largest customer-owned bank. For 75 years, they have been dedicated to helping their customers achieve their financial goals and own their own homes.

During the recent brand upgrade, Great Southern Bank wanted to ensure they provided a collaborative, flexible and supportive working environment for their staff. No stone was to be left unturned in the provision of facilities, and hence the opportunity came to install the Metra Electronic Locker System into their office lockers, enabling their employees greater flexibility of access, and to feel more secure about their personal belongings during the day.

Close to 900 Metra electronic locks were installed across four floors at their George St, Brisbane location. Each floor has two central Metra displays with card readers with the ability to read the employees Gallagher cards which give instant access to lockers, with real time reporting through MyMetraLockers software portal.

Our locking system was installed into custom office locker joinery completed by Five at Heart with the project being lead by the team at Quadric Construction.

NSW Cricket Centre

The new home of Cricket NSW at Wilson Park in Sydney’s Silverwater has been built for the needs of current and future generation cricketers at every level; coaches, umpires, administrators, and volunteers.  The new facility is said to provide contemporary high-performance training and playing facilities for all NSW professional teams, offer pathway and development programs, a community facility and office space for almost 150 staff.

Metra Aus were approached by both the builder and joiner for the project to provide a solution for electronic locking technology within the lockers throughout the players and community change rooms, administration areas and for kit bag storage on the ground floor.

There is a total of 347 electronic locks were installed throughout the facility with a mix of our RFID “on door” solution and centralised locking solution.

With all staff and regular players to be issued an RFID access card whilst using the facility, the RFID on door was considered the best solution as it allows a user to move directly to either their assigned locker, or a free locker and unlock at the door. The small number of the centralised lockers are reserved for casual users to the open auditorium.

All of the lockers were custom designed by Cox Architects, and the Metra lock was able to accommodate their unique needs – including the large horizontally hinged, lift up lockers designed specifically for large kit-bag storage.

The change rooms required a lot of individual storage, but only a small allocation of secure, valuable storage.

Lockers to the open plan office area are low height, and readily accessible for staff.

Australian Healthcare Associates

Australian Healthcare Associates (AHA) are a high-performance management consultancy based in Bourke Street Melbourne. They are built specifically to help federal and state governments achieve their health and human services goals.

When it came time for an office revamp, AHA reached out to Metra Aus requesting a smart locker solution where their team can access their lockers via a Mobile App.

Two banks of lockers were installed in the office with a total of 71 centralised electronic locks. A Metra Display and a central reader with HID technology and Bluetooth was installed as an extra option for access card holders, as well as allowing Master Card functionality. But going mobile was paramount for AHA, and so MyMetraKey (MMK) has proved the perfect solution for staff.

The MyMetraLockers Software is used to assign permanent lockers to staff, while casual users can also use MMK to hire a locker for the day. Notifications from both MML & MMK can also alert staff if they left their locker door open, their locker hire is about to expire, or when the locker was just serviced

Bay Centre – 65 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont

 

Adjacent to Sydney’s Darling Harbour, with amazing dining, retail and outdoor amenities, Bay Centre offers it’s commercial customers a flexible and modern working environment.

Metra Aus is proud to have been able to enhance the buildings modern technology through the installation of our electronic locking solution both on their office floors and through out their end of trip facilities.

One of the main requests from the end user, building management group Mirvac, was that the locking solution was to have the ability to read combi card with Desfire and 125 Prox credentials. This request has been successfully met through the programming of our card readers.

 

Over the three office floors with lockers installed, there was 68x locks, 2x displays, and 2x card readers (with HID technology and Bluetooth) installed.

These lockers have been set up for both long term/permanent hire of the locker and with all unassigned lockers available for casual/daily use hire for staff members.  Lockers are assigned to their current building access card.

 

The end of trip facilities have a 10” touch display and reader installed in each area which offers the best individual casual locker use experience. With it the locker user can freely self-assign a vacant locker of choice.

The added bonus of our locking solution throughout the EOT and office floors is our “service mode”.  In todays world cleaning and servicing is imperative. Our lockers are set up so when a reservation has expired, the locker enters into service mode and cannot be re-hired until it has be thoroughly cleaned.

Dickson Interchange – ACT Government

Interloc Lockers approached Metra Australia to provide a hardwired locking solution for this project. After some consultation with the end client, the Metra ELS Net centralised solution was chosen to meet the security requirements.

The Metra Touchscreen solution with 300 x centralised locks is used in the end of trip change room facilities with the Metra Display solution with 1,314 x centralised locks used across the 6 levels of workspace lockers.

Metra Australia worked with Interloc Lockers and BLOC to deliver this project through bushfires and Covid-19.

With Active Directory integration, users are automatically imported into the My Metra Lockers software and administration staff can manage all the groups of lockers via the cloud. The Metra software was installed within the customers Azure VM, for connectivity to the lockers installed onsite.

Urbis

When you spend your days designing and guiding development projects with property owners and investors its only fitting to have brand new, state of the art personal storage for your employees. 

Urbis engaged Framework and Metra to install custom lockers to their office floors. By choosing the Metra RFID “on door” solution, Urbis employees are able to unlock their locker directly at the door using their Gallagher building access card.

Urbis have chosen to set up their lockers in “free mode”. This is where vacant lockers are unlocked at all times and a staff member can freely choose an available locker. This mode is regularly used for short term/casual use such as hot desking setups.

The lockers also have the ability (via a minor back end reconfiguration) to be set up in “assigned mode”. This means lockers remain locked at all times, management assign an individual staff member to a particular locker for a set amount of time or permanent basis and only that staff member can access that locker. 

The MyMetraSoftware provides the building management team the ability to monitor which staff member has used which locker, assisting with contact tracing and cleaning services.

Transport for NSW Macquarie Park

Metra Australia are proud to once again be chosen by Transport for NSW to provide the latest in smart lockers. Together with Lockin we delivered a flexible and secure personal storage system that satisfies the needs of their staff.

The latest commercial office development at 45-61 Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park is said to be one of Australia’s most contemporary business precincts. This project saw the team design and install 3,952 lockers set across six levels of the brand new office complex.

Each locker was fitted with the Metra HID Centralised Locking Solution (hard-wired, no batteries). Staff can access their assigned lockers via RFID media (smartcard or phone app) at one of the 64 Metra Reader Terminals, with genuine Bluetooth enabled HID technology, located within each of the locker banks.

Our integrated back office METRA ELS software solution meant staff were able to use their existing RFID media card for building access and locker access. Locker banks are located in various high traffic areas of each office space, including hallways, islands and built into plaster walls.
